Ad extirpanda

(Latin: To eradicate) - Bull of Pope Innoc ent IV promulgated May 15, 1252 the year in which the pope author ized the secular and ecclesiastical authorities for the use of to rture to force confessions from heretics, and specify rules for t he use of torture [1]. Bull contains 38 rules and policies, detailing the duties and responsibilities of laity and clergy of Lombardy and Tuscany in order to eradicate the scourge of heresy, and turning the war against all heresy, under penalty of excommunication, loss of dignity, power, eternal infamy and the loss of state land (rule 1) , which in practice meant that the country could take the person you authorize to the Roman Catholic Church [2]. The last three rules apply to adapt to the requirements of local laws regarding the rights of the church extirpation of heresy, and the careful archiving of current and future rights against the heresies in the archives of the state, diocesan, and finally in the archives of the Dominicans and the Franciscans.
